• Drafting a student senate resolution in support of Public Access. For an example, see the University of Florida Student Senate resolution.
• Writing an article or editorial for your student newspaper about public access and how it will impact your university system.  To read other university-based news coverage of the issue, see our media page.

• Talking to your campus librarians about the idea of open access in general and public access in specific, and whether current library initiatives might benefit from student contributions. Your librarian has important impact on campus and many are playing leadership roles in the open access arena as a result of a decade-long movement to address the skyrocketing cost of journals. (More information is available from SPARC.)  Your librarian is a key resource for you as you explore ways to become involved in the issue of free access to research.
• Asking your school's administrators to join the presidents and provosts who support public access.
• Asking your organization to join the Alliance for Taxpayer Access.
